JHWalter is a long established firm of property agents, consultants and auctioneers centred in Lincoln in the East Midlands. The Insolvency Support team is headed by partner Henry Denchfield calling on colleagues as appropriate to provide a UK wide service to Insolvency Practitioners involved in the food and farming sector.

Insolvency Support Experience
A very substantial pig farming business with 4000 sows and 40,000 pigs in total appointed administrators. JHWalter provided advice regarding on going management and acted on behalf of the administrators in the sale of property, livestock, plant and machinery. The Bomfords group went into administration in the summer of 2007. The group was a leading supplier of fresh produce to the major supermarkets with a turnover of £150 million. When it went into administration it had some 3000 acres of vegetable crops in the ground including 1300 acres of salad onions. JHWalter supported the administrators with advice as to the value of the crops, their management in the short term and the route to achieve best value from them.
JHWalter organised a tender sale of poultry processing and packaging equipment as part of the liquidation of a food manufacturing company.
JHWalter provided advice regarding the welfare and day to day management of cattle to Insolvency Practitioners managing a small beef business. Subsequently receivers were appointed and JHWalter sold the cattle, vehicles, machinery, land and residential property.

Henry Denchfield
Henry is a rural business consultant with over thirty years experience and heads up the JHWalter Insolvency Support team. Specialist skills include:

Henry was called as an expert witness in a case of a farm business going into receivership. The receivership was acrimonious from the start and the farmer subsequently alleged that the farm had been mismanaged resulting in loss of profit. In his judgement following a twenty day trial in the Leeds High Court Judge Langan stated that, “if an expert witness as impressive as Mr Denchfield expresses a view on agricultural mismanagement……the court should be slow to depart from his opinion.”
David Wright
It was whilst working for Deloitte that David first gained experience in dealing with insolvency. As a rural business and planning consultant David’s experience includes:
