As of April 2024, Charles Whitaker, Managing Partner of Brown&Co, has announced a series of promotions across the firm including several changes within our Management Board.

Charles Birch has become the Chairman of Partners, taking over from Robert Fairey who previously held this role. Charles, who has over 30 years’ experience in rural estate management and residential development projects, has been the Head of Brown&Co’s Land Agency division up until this change, after working with the firm since its acquisition of Francis Hornor & Son in 1996.

Taking over from Charles as Head of Land Agency, is Edward Blundy. Ed has been a Partner at Brown&Co since 2009 and leads Brown&Co’s land agency team in the King’s Lynn office. Many clients will know Ed for his specialties in large-scale international valuation advice and renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Additionally, Nick Dunn, Partner in the Norwich office will be taking over as the new Head of Commercial from Nick Dawes, Partner in the Lincoln office. Nick Dunn has almost 40 years of experience in the general practice and commercial agency sectors and has worked at Brown&Co since 2011. During this time, he has acted for regional and national developers to evolve and promote new-build business park schemes and has a wealth of experience in the acquisition and disposal of commercial property investments and commercial development land.

These leadership appointments represent an exciting period for the firm, as Brown&Co continues to grow, with plans for the business and career progression potential for all teams supporting cross-divisional clients across the partnership.

In addition to the changes within the Firm’s board, Charles also announced a new Associate Partner, 12 new Divisional Partners, 8 new Senior Associates and 12 new Associates plus a range of other promotions across all levels and divisions.

Brown&Co continue to grow and develop the firm's capacity to provide value, efficiency and innovation to deliver best in class services to our clients across the spectrum of farming, farm land and property, commercial and residential property, planning and architecture and we are delighted to report further growth in the year to March 24. The opportunities for careers and career development within our partnership are front and centre of our plans for the future to ensure we can continue to help our clients deliver to their own business and asset management objectives.  Brown&Co now numbers some 300 staff and partners and as we enter our 31st year of business, I am proud to lead the business to grasp the opportunities and tackle the challenges for our clients as they develop through the new normal of volatility and ever increasing demands for efficiency and innovation across our own and our clients businesses and asset interests.
